Directions for use

Tank cleaning

Tank cleaning should, if possible, be carried out immediately after discharge of cargo.

Star Alkaline Degreaser HD should be applied with water at a temperature above 60°C if possible. The cleaning should be done by circulation using a tank cleaning machine, spray equipment or injected into the steam.

Boiler furnace cleaning

Use a 10% to 20% solution with fresh water. A hot solution of more than 40°C is preferable as treatment is more effective when heated. Apply solution to surfaces to be cleaned by spraying. Depending on the nature, age and state of the deposits, repeat spraying as necessary.

For deposits, which are very hard to remove, a solution of up to 50% can be used.

Cargo hold cleaning

Star Alkaline Degreaser HD can be used for cargo hold cleaning after pet coke, coal, vegetables, animal oils and other bulk materials.

  2. Leave for 30-45 minutes. The surface remains wet.
  3. Wash down with a high pressure unit. It is recommended to wash down from lower to upper parts of the hold.
  4. If necessary repeat the procedure

If, before loading, EC Coat Barrier is going to be used to the surfaces, reduce the concentration. When mixing Alkaline Degreaser HD with seawater, a concentration of 20-25% (ratio 2:9 to 1:3) is recommended.
