The trainee Liferaft Technician received his award, together with a cheque for £100.00, at a ceremony held at Cammell Laird shipyard, just a stone’s throw from Star International’s head office in Birkenhead.
Lee has been working at Star International since 2017 and is midway through a four-year apprenticeship. Whilst completing his studies, Lee works with the LSA Liferaft team, gaining experience in all aspects of liferaft service and repair.
Speaking after the ceremony, Lee said:
“I am really pleased to be recognised by the Guild and to receive this award. My apprenticeship has been challenging but I enjoy the work and the opportunities it provides to learn new skills and to travel.
“I’m now over halfway through my course and I am starting to look forward to gaining my full qualification. Hopefully In a few years, I’ll have the opportunity to teach the new apprentices coming through the business.”
