Star International’s Southampton branch achieves ISO accreditation

Star International’s Southampton branch has achieved ISO 9001 for Quality Management and ISO 45001 for Occupational Health and Safety.

The globally recognised accreditations mean that the Southampton depot joins Star’s Birkenhead headquarters in holding the internationally recognised operating standards and demonstrates the robust working practices that Star’s team has achieved since the warehouse and office complex was established in October 2020.

Jeff Antley, Managing Director at Star International said:

“The accreditation of our Southampton branch to ISO 9001 and 45001 standard is an important development in our planned, ongoing expansion on the south coast. The accreditation recognises the exacting standards that we adhere to across our operational activities and reinforces our status as a trusted supplier to the marine and offshore sectors.

“This achievement has been made possible through continued investment and the dedication of our team, who have ensured that the workplace is safe, compliant and consistently operates to the highest standards of quality. We regard our accreditations as an important benchmark, that demonstrate to colleageues and customers alike that service, excellence and continual improvement are core principles in everything we do.”

Karen Zammit Southampton Branch Manager added:

“I am thrilled that our branch has been awarded ISO status. A huge amount of work has been completed to demonstrate our commitment to operating at the highest professional standards and I am proud of the entire team who have all worked incredibly hard in preparation for the ISO audit.”

The ISO audit was undertaken by an independent awarding body in December 2020 and also extended the certification of Star’s Birkenhead HQ, resulting in both sites being certified in both ISO 9001 and 45001 until 2024.
