Star Oxygen Scavenger 72120

Star Oxygen Scavenger 72120 is a non-catalyzed oxygen scavenger and metal passivator, designed for use in preboiler and condensate systems. The active ingredient in this product is diethylhydroxylamine (DEHA), which reacts with the dissolved oxygen in the feedwater to minimise oxygen corrosion. DEHA will also react with the iron to form a protective oxide layer.

Star Oxygen Scavenger 72120 does not increase the total dissolved solids in the boiler, and can be fed into feedwaters used for spray attemperation.

Directions for use

The feedwater dosage of Star Oxygen Scavenger 72120 will vary based on the feedwater oxygen level, boiler operating pressure and the boiler water cycles of concentration. Contact your local Star sales engineer for the appropriate feeding and dosage recommendations for your particular application.

Underfeed of Star Oxygen Scavenger 72120 will result in serious oxygen corrosion to the boiler and feedwater system, and may also significantly increase the specific risk of very damaging pitting corrosion. The greatest damage will occur in the economizer or feedwater preheaters. Oxygen corrosion will also increase iron levels in the feedwater, which may result in iron deposits and subsequent boiler tube failures in high heat flux areas of the boiler.

Overfeed of Star Oxygen Scavenger 72120 will increase the cost of your chemical treatment program.
